I was worried that the job would make our house dirty with dust etc. I was wrong. Mark was our restumped guy. He did a fantastic job. Left the place with rock solid floors and no mess. I definitely recommend this company for a good job and a fair price. And I don’t write lots of reviews.

We engaged Eastern Restumping and Underpinning for a 13 pin set under our California Bungalow in Northcote in October 2025. Each pin was dug to a depth of 2 metres and about 1.2 metres long. The firm was recommended by our Structural Engineers. Derek was excellent in the quoting process giving us a realistic view of what to expect and a price we were happy to pay. Sarah was excellent to deal with on the administrative side. David and the team that did the underpinning work over a little more than two and a half weeks were well organised and ensured an excellent cleanup at the end of the process (given the inevitable mess from clay excavation). It was an extremely pleasant and informative team to deal with on the project. The skilful control of the do-everything excavator was great to see and care was well taken in confined spaces such as along the porch of the house when digging to avoid damage. Everything worked like clockwork from the building permit, building inspections, concrete pours and skip removal. We are very happy with the results.

Very helpful. We had an issue with a squeaky floor. Derek diagnosed the the cause straight away. The problem was fixed by David the next day at a reasonable cost. Both Derek and David were professional, easy to deal with and turned up when they said they would. I would highly recommend them for flooring issues.

Very satisfied. Prompt response to inquiry, clear and comprehensive quote. Work was begun on time and was carried out carefully and effectively. A couple of minor problems arose and were quickly dealt with. Excellent communication and follow-up. Our building surveyor inspected the work as it progressed and issued a certificate of completion when it was finished.

Very helpful. Derek came out the same day to take a look at a creaky floor (due to a squeaky nail and pin between a concrete stump and the bearer). Gave honest advice (which didn't result in any work for him) and was a nice bloke to deal with.

We called Eastern Restumping to come and quote on levelling our flooring. Derek was quick to come out at and view the job to provide a quote. We reached out to Derek for a quote as we just recently purchased a new home and wanted to be sure it is level. He was able to squeeze us in to inspect the house basically the next day - which was amazing given the workload. He gave us a debrief after his inspection, which was very knowledgeable and covered multiple elements. Something I want to call out is that he suggested actually not to do anything and advised that no packing is required - someone saying no to a job and having alternate suggestions is something that is rare, and I value a lot. Highly recommend.

Based on my experience, I highly recommend Eastern Restumping and Underpinning. We had underpinning works done - 7 x 2.5 meter deep concrete pins, which needed to be hand dug due to gas and water pipes in the area! They did an amazing job!

Eastern did all the underpinning at the front of my house and driveway. Amazing customer service, they went above and beyond with the challenges of my job, removing the previous poor workmanship and working with the engineers for a solution. Derek and David are great guys and very well priced.

I had a very good experience with the Underpinning work done by Eastern. From a prompt first visit by Derek, followed by a Quote together with helpful advice regarding documentation required, it always felt very professional. When the work started they were always punctual, the onsite team were very careful, quiet and neat. The job became complicated when they struck rock, so there was an additional visit from the Civil Engineer to advise on the best way to proceed. I was so glad I had chosen Eastern for their experience, as i felt that everything was in good hands. I was very impressed with all aspects of their work.
